Life...it brings expected and unexpected challenges. At times we can range from needing little to more extensive support and that's okay (and VERY normal)!
About me: I grew up in Wyoming on a ranch and had many, many pets. After high school, I left Wyoming and lived in Texas, Germany, Idaho, and Washington State for several years. No matter where I went, I always returned to Wyoming and am a Wyomingite at heart. I am raising a teenage daughter and enjoy spending time with my family. I 'fell' into counseling due to not having a direct path of knowing what I wanted to do next upon graduating with my bachelor's degree. I applied to Gonzaga University's community counseling program and got accepted! Upon graduating with my MA degree I returned to Wyoming and worked in a community mental health center working with a diverse clientele. I led substance abuse groups, worked with individuals and couples, and provided substance abuse evaluations.
The counseling theories I use are Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) which is a section of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing. I believe that every person is the 'director' of their life but sometimes we all need someone who guides, challenges and believes that with work, time, knowledge, and accountability change is possible. I enjoy working with clients for either substance abuse and/or mental health. I also enjoy working with couples with the goal of improving the relationship.
